Two weeks ago my man, my niece and I spend a few days in Greece, on the island Rhodes. We mostly were there to relax, enjoy the nice weather and do some snorkelling, but now and then I picked up a camera too. And I just love the light in Greece! We stayed in a nice hotel a bit south of Rhodes Town, which had some great pools and a beautiful beach. With temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius, our pace was slow, and swimming was the main priority. But we did get into a car and discovered a small bit of the island, which turned out to be greener than I expected. I shot Portra 400 with my M2 this time, along with a few shots on Velvia taken with my Nikonos V. With this kind of  intensity of the sun I like the less saturated characteristics of Portra. Enjoy!

First morning, view from our balcony:

Another view from the hotel, with my niece and my man. Portra 400 is just perfect for these circumstances:

This is from our trip across the island. First stop: Anthony Quinn bay:

Rhodes is much greener than I expected it to be. One famous green place on the island is Butterfly Valley, with a lot of big trees, small waterfalls, and small red butterflies. The butterflies were there, but mostly too fast for the photo. If you see a red blob, it’s a butterfly 😉 :

One final look from our hotel on the last night (Ok, I sneaked in a digital image as well, taken with my man’s camera as I left mine in the hotel room):

But I still prefer the look of Portra over digital:

In my next post I will publish the results from our underwater adventures.

Thanks for reading!
