As I mentioned in my previous post I recently visited the beautiful island Karpathos with my man. We were only there for three days, but that is enough to make a lot of photos. Today I got my film back from the lab, so I can finally share the beautiful Greek colors!

I made a selection of about 40 photos that I wanted to share, and to keep it manageable I decided to split it into two posts. This one contains the photos with the sea views (the Aegean Sea), the next post will contain the landviews, or basically all photos that do not contain a (significant) amount of water. Again a mixture of digital and film photos, and this time I also experimented with a different film: Kodak Ektar. As expected the colors of Ektar are more saturated than those of Portra 400 (which I have been using mostly up till now), and that works well in some situations. Overall I still prefer Portra 400. Well, judge for yourself…

  1. I really love these landscapes! I love Portra 400, too, but I really love the vibrant colors of Ektar. I’m shooting some Ektar for the first time in 35mm format. I’ve only shot it in medium format previously. Your captures are excellent!!

    1. Thanks a lot Travis, really appreciate it. I will be looking forward to seeing more of your results.
