This is the last part of sharing my  highlights from Scotland. We spent the last couple of days in the Highlands, mostly in Assynt. And of course you have to make stop for a photo in Glencoe, but there is a lot more beauty to find there. I felt a bit relieved to see some trees and woodland after the bare land of Harris and Lewis (which has its own weird charm). I am happy to share these photos, and a bit sad that I am not in Scotland anymore. But I know I will go back there, and until then, at least we have the photos 🙂 :

The photos were shot with the M240, the M2 on Portra 400, or with the Minolta Riva Panorama on Adox Silvermax.

Thanks for ready!

  1. Every year we used to spend at least one week in the north and west from our base on the agricultural east coast. Your photos have reminded me of what we have been missing on our own doorstep by spending all our travel time in Europe.

I do prefer Scottish landscapes to be a bit brooding in atmosphere or in B & W.

Just my luck, no info on the tree in cleft of rock, trees do need all the shelter they can get.

    1. Thanks Coline!

With respect to the trees: I couldn’t find the name of the road on Google or on OS maps. So here is my direction: From the A835 driving north go left towards Loch Lurgainn. At the end of Loch Bad a’ Ghaill take a sharp turn right. This is the road where I found those trees, and a lot more beauty.

    2. BTW, I agree that a bit of dark atmosphere works well in Scotland, but I particularly like the diversity of weather. And as we drive a convertible a few days with sunshine is most welcome 🙂 .

  2. I can only echo what Travis said: beautiful images, great variety in composition, color and lens angle. Absolutely gorgeous!

Just out of curiosity: the images listed as ‘V800’: these seem to be a bit more wide angle. What was the focal lenght they were made with?

Please continue to treat us on these beautiful pictures….

    1. Thanks MP, that means a lot to me!
The V800 images were scanned with my Epson V800 (just started scanning, scary stuff!), mostly I shoot my M2 with the vintage 50mm, so not so wide. The Ullapool image was taken with the 35mm. The b&w panorama’s were shot with the Minolta Riva Panorama, which has a 24mm lens.
