My love for Karpathos doesn’t stop with exploring the land (see my previous post), some of the best moments on the island were spent underwater. And thanks to my Nikonos V I was able to capture quite a bit of it on film. So without further ado, enjoy the magical world with the fish of Karpathos:

The last three are a bonus, as they are technically not really ok. I loved the soft light at the end of the afternoon, when part of our snorkelling spot was lying in the shadow of the cliff. The colors were pastel-like and the stones rounded by the water. I tried my 80mm lens here with a wide aperture because of the lack of light. This gave me a very small depth of field, smooth bokeh, and a lot of motion blur… However, to me the result is very special, so although imperfect, I want to share them.
