Although it seems like film has taken over my photography, I do make digital work as well. As I have been focussing on regaining health and strength lately, photography has been slow for me. That annoys me, but also makes me insecure. And when I get insecure I fall back to the safety of the digital camera where I can try out more things. In this case just as well, as I made a mistake during the development of the roll of Ektar I shot the same day as the photos below. The Ektar turned out to be interesting (see my previous post), but I am also glad I have some crisp images of the Witven, the pool in Oisterwijk I ended up visiting a couple of weeks ago.

The day started with quite a few clouds and a bit of rain, and almost no wind. Some good opportunities for reflection photos:

After a while the sky started to clear up, leaving some nice white cotton clouds in a perfect blue sky:

I noticed the small patch with reed sticking out of the water, and I just had to get closer to get a shot of it with just the clouds. By the way, with the minimal focus distance of 1 meter for my 50mm lens I had to crop a bit too, but I am quite happy with the result:

The light even got better with more sun coming through. I love how the greens sparkle with a bit of sun.

This next one is my favourite. I love the transition from purple blue to turquoise blue in the sky. I love the bit of red in the sand. And I love how the waterlilies are aligned in the darker part of the water due to the reflections of the tree.

For some of these shots I had to get into the pond, and I quickly learned that walking into the water causes ripples. So you see a perfect reflection, get in the water to get closer, and the image is gone :-). Mostly I just tried to stand still for a minute or so for the water to quiet down again. But in the image below I liked the lines caused by the ripples, it is still very neat, very different from a windy water surface.

As you can see, very different result from the M240 compared to the double-exposed Ektar at the same location. But I hoped you enjoyed them anyway.

Thanks for reading!
