This week we had some real winter weather here in the Netherlands. And I mean the good kind, with clear skies, freezing temperatures at night, and a few degrees Celsius above zero during the day. Perfect for morning shoots! The frost ripe makes just about anything beautiful, even the barbed wire fence above.

Below you see the small village near my house, with frost ripe on the grass, and the clear sky just after sunrise. I like the colors in this kind of weather. I also tried to make a close up of the frost ripe, while still keeping those colors in my frame.

I have used my Summicron to create some landscape photos, with one of the results shown above, but I didn’t have the time to go far. And the I-can-reach-it-by-foot-area is not pretty enough for those wide-angle landscape photos, so I turned to my Tele-Elmarit and focussed on the details. Funnily enough I encountered some blossom. Just as you think spring is far far away, you get treated with this. And the frost ripe added a bit of extra sparkle… 🙂

The ducks were there to cheer me on. But it was mostly the color of the sky reflecting in the water that made this picture for me.

Again, frost ripe and sun. Can’t get enough of that!

It was difficult to choose from the different types of grassed and plumes, but the photo below came out on top.

And just because I am sort of becoming the princess of backlight photography, I add another one. I couldn’t resist the curves of the gate below.
