Somehow I seem to end up on the beach a lot lately. This time I drove to Kijkduin where I had to pull my hair back into a ponytail because of the strong wind. When I arrived a woman with her dog just came back from a walk on the beach, and I was just in time to catch her being pushed by the wind.

Although we’ve had a couple of days with temperatures above 10 degrees Celsius, spring still hasn’t arrived yet. This is clearly visible at the beach clubs, which are a bit disheveled at the moment…

From Kijkduin you can see the town Scheveningen, even when it’s a bit hazy. Below two times the same view towards Scheveningen, one from sea-level, and one from the level of the viewpoint in the dunes.

From this viewpoint you can also see how big the waves are. I was lucky that it had been raining the days before, so the sand was all wet. This way I was spared the sandblast you would normally experience on such a day.

This last photo shows again the beach club furniture waiting for spring. There is a tiny bit of sun coming through, enlightening some of the white heads on the waves. And if you look really close, you might even spot a bit of blue sky 🙂 .

I hope next time I visit a beach I can drink a cup of tea al fresco!
