It’s not a secret that I enjoy the forest, so I cannot just slide into winter without a fall forest post. And this fall I spend all my forest-time in the same part of the Veluwe: Speulderbos. It it is such a beautiful forest with trees with age and character.
At the start of fall, in October, there is still a lot of green. But the air gets more humid, bringing a fall vibe.
Come November, orange starts to creep in:
Somehow I also ended up with a few frames that I like a lot, but only in black and white. They were made on a foggy morning, and the fogginess just works better in monochrome:
Moving further into fall, orange just completely takes over:
The last four frames were shot on Portra 800, the first time I shot this film stock in the forest. I am really happy with the result, although the quality of the light that morning was a big part of it. But still, I will shoot it some more because it just brings such beautiful colors.
Thanks for reading!
A lovely Christmas present for all your followers!
For me, the Portra images offer so much more than the digital ones.
Happy Christmas
