Last week I needed a little break, but I didn’t want to go too far from home. I really wanted to walk in some forest, but my favourites are all too far away for an afternoon. After looking at a map searching for green spots within my action radius I noticed the gardens of De Haar, a castle in Haarzuilens near Utrecht. And so it went…
Visiting a castle also makes you thing about how to capture it without making the usual or standard photos. Of course I did that too, so here is an overview of the castle from the obvious viewpoint, straight after the entrance:
You may notice that it is quite a big castle too, so it doesn’t always fit the frame. But I tried several angles to capture parts of it. Hope you enjoy!
I also liked the building shown below with the red accents, they are not part of the castle itself, but from the coach house and stables.
Back to the castle and pond:
Trying to find some different angles, I liked the arcs and bridges from this next viewpoint. And I liked the couple on the right bridge… (but you have to look closely to find them).
A few roses from the rose garden:
This is my favourite viewpoint:
Thanks for reading!
Very nice! I really like that panoramic shot. That castle is huge. Did you go inside? You reminded me of a castle near my hometown that I need to photograph. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! This time I didn’t go inside, the weather was nice so I preferred the garden.
