Last weekend we spent a couple of days with friends in Zeeland, the most western province of The Netherlands consisting of islands and peninsulas. And although it was not a photography expedition, but a time to catch up with friends, I managed to make a decent amount of images. It’s hard to believe today, when it’s 25 degrees Celsius, that last weekend I was walking around in my down-filled parka, but we were lucky enough to have two days without a drop of rain. As the islands are pretty small the beach is never far away. In fact our holiday home was 200 meters from the water. Below you can see the beach that was only a few footsteps away.
We were based in Colijnsplaat, a little town very close to the Zeeland bridge, which is the white bridge in the distance in the images below. It has clean, simple lines, and I love the look of it.
I spent some time around this harbour, and was happy that I brought the 90mm lens along for some detail shots. The two birds below were flying in a beautiful synchronous pattern, and I can’t believe how I timed the shot below to make them align with the footpath in the background.
We also took a little tour around the island Schouwen-Duiveland, the images below were made at Brouwersdam and Renesse.
It was a lovely weekend with a lot of blues (the color 😉 )!
Thanks for reading!
Gorgeous vistas! Love the colors!!
Thanks! I actually wasn’t sure about the colors, I thought they were a bit on the heavy, oversaturated site, but decided that this was my best effort… And I brought it upon myself by using a polarising filter for some of them.
