This is an odd post, with photos that aren’t mine. However I thought it would be nice to share the unboxing process of my new apple watch together with my first experiences, so I asked my man to make some photos (with his new Canon G7X). It wasn’t a straightforward decision, at first I thought I wouldn’t need an apple watch. However, it has nothing to do with needing it, but more with wanting it đ , and after reading some reviews there were a couple of applications that seemed very desirable to me. So here we go:
I chose the apple watch with stainless steel case and white sports band. This version comes in a pretty heavy box, and after removing the cellophane and cardboard lid, it became clear where that weight comes from. The watch is delivered with a white storage box made from some heavy plastic.
And here is the watch:
The watch comes with a small and large band, which are easy to replace:
With a little bit of concentration đ
And then you’re good to go. The installation process is really straightforward with the apple watch app on the iPhone.
The touch screen is very nice. It doesn’t only work well, it also feels good. It might sound strange, but I like how it is smooth without being slippery.
I have changed the face of the watch with a purple (my favourite color) clock, and with the following information:
– date
– sunrise/sunset (important for a landscape photographer)
– temperature
– activity progressionAnd I have just send my first animated emoji to my favourite person đ
My favourite apps so far:
– Activity tracker: I just appreciate the warning every hour to stand up for a minute. And I get foolishly happy with the colourful circles appearing during the day (see below, red circle for overall active calories, blue circle for training calories which requires an elevated heart rate, and blue circle for standing up for a minute per hour). You also get motivational messages and medals. Yeah! đ
– Heartbeat monitor: Why not? After a lunch-walk I check it to see if it was a lazy walk or a work-out walk. And I learned that driving a car is a bit of an exercise, as my heart rate increases.
– Navigation: My absolute favourite! You get instructions on the screen (see below). But you also get taps on the wrist, a continuous series of beats if you have to go right, and an interrupted set of beats for left. I think it’s brilliant. I will use it for bike rides, which always go wrong at some point.
Conclusion: I am very happy with the watch. I think the haptic feedback is very cool. Not only for navigation, but also for notifications. I love the colors on the screen. And so far I have no problem with battery life.
