I finally managed to get up early to catch the rising sun. And I was rewarded with some beautiful colors. You can tell that winter is really over, there is less time to profit from the golden hour with the sun already rising pretty fast.
I was early enough to make some photos before the sun rose above the houses. You don’t see a clear difference in the actual photographs (at least for the photos with the sun at my back), but it is much darker before the sun is up. I didn’t even realise it myself when shooting, so I have a couple of photos of lovely blue flowers with too much motion blur (and therefore not shown here 😉 ) You just forget how good your eyes are at adjusting to the circumstances…
The next photos are all taken after the sun appeared from behind the rooftops, as you can see from the short exposure values. It is much brighter now. And you can see the sunlight playing with the leaves in the tree below.
I even had time to take the Tele-Elmarit out, the water-lily leaves were catching the sunlight so nicely, I just thought this was a good opportunity to try the typical Tele-Elmarit look. I have been playing with the white balance, I’m not sure this is the best or most realistic, but it seemed green enough to me with still enough warmth of the golden hour.
In the last photo you can see the sun is rising as the pink and orange is disappearing from the sky. But I still like it a lot. I like the combination of the fresh green grass with the softer colors in the sky. I have been at this location many times before, but never with the shore accessible at water-level. I was a bit nervous about dropping the camera in the water, but I am happy with the viewpoint. This is as far as you can get without a boat!
