Today I visited the Posbank again, a part of the National Park ‘Veluwezoom’. Well, strictly speaking the Posbank is just a bench, but the name is also used for the part of the Veluwezoom that you can see from that bench. It is a beautiful spot with heather, trees, deers and horses. I have visited this place before when the heather was blooming and purple (see post here), but even in winter I really like this place. I was a bit unlucky with the weather though, the sky all covered with an even layer of clouds, no stripe, cumulus or even the smallest ray of sunshine to be seen. In these conditions I often prefer a black and white version of my photos.
What I like about this place is that is accident, not level flat as in the west of The Netherlands where I live. And there are a lot of beautiful trees that stand out nicely against the heather fields and hills (hey, it is The Netherlands, let’s call them hills 🙂 ). In between the heather is some yellow grass, giving some color-differentiation in the landscape.
When I had just decided to head home again I noticed a couple of horses a few hundred meters away from me, so I decided to check them out. They were very friendly, some a bit curious, but still a bit difficult to catch on photo. I wanted a shallow depth of field, and they kept moving, so I did not always manage to get the eye in focus as I intended to. But I still like some of them:
