It has been a while since I was out and about before sunrise. To be frank, I was put off by the weather. But the day after christmas the forecast was good, so I decided to head for the Loonse en Drunense Duinen (a national park with sand drifts and heather fields). I have never been there before, and it was so dark when I arrived that I had trouble finding the parking lot. But it all worked out, my car was still there when I returned, although I saw a really large parking site on the other side of the road 🙂 .
The sky was really beautiful at this hour, and I was early enough to catch the moon:

It was difficult to find the right white balance settings at home. When I was there I told myself that yes, the sky is really lavender/lilac coloured. I knew that I would find it difficult to remember the correct color when I was back at home. So I tried to imprint it in my mind, but it’s just impossible to remember exact colors. After about seven versions (more blue, more yellow, more pink) I settled for these ones.

Then the sun came out, and the colors changed drastically. By the way, this was my favourite tree:

A different setup with the same tree:

And, as it was my favourite tree, one with more sun:

Finally a few images with the heather:
