This post is about the pretty, beautiful and developed part of Curaçao. In my last post I shared some landscape photos, with a bit of a rural atmosphere. This post is about the beaches, more specifically about the estate-beaches developed for the tourist. Maybe not authentic, but I like pretty!

In the photo above I caught the woman standing up and probably looking out for a friend or partner coming back with refreshments. I chose black and white for this photo to emphasise the lines and textures, and because the contrasts are so nice in black and white.

Of course a good beach has a shower, and I liked this shot with the warm color tones. I tried to take a photo with the water running, but it ran for a short amount of time. Too short for me to take my position and focus. And as my pretty assistant was taking a rest on a nice beach chair ( 😉 ), I decided that this shot was nice enough.

The next couple of photos is taken on the same beach, which is part of the Coral Estate. There is a nice restaurant with red parasols, giving me a good opportunity for some colourful photos.

Next a more simple image. There was a short time-window for this shot, as the beach got pretty busy only shortly after we got there. But here is an empty chair looking over the atlantic ocean. Wouldn’t you just love to sit here for a couple of minutes and think about life?

Another shot from the beach at Coral Estate, of course I wasn’t the only one taking photos.

The next one is from a different place called Mambo Beach. This beach is much larger, and there was a lot of wind creating some nice splashes from the waves against the rocks.

Finally a photo I made at a small beach near our bungalow. This was taken around sunrise, so the colors are much more muted. I really liked to walk around there when it was still empty and tidy. Because of the time of day the colors are more pastel-like, which I think is a nice change.

In the mean time we’re back in the Netherlands, facing the cold, the snow, and scraping ice from the car. Well ok, I’ll manage…
