One day I am enjoying the last bit of fall, and before I know it spring is almost here. Well of course that’s not exactly how it happened, but I know it has been ages since my last post. Let’s just say the winter months proved challenging for me… But although life was slow during the winter, I didn’t completely abandon photography. So while winter is leaving The Netherlands (temperatures went up from -5 to about +15 deg C in a week) I thought I’d share a compilation of my winter shoots. As I was selecting them I noticed quite the variety in media. I like that, but I warn you not to expect a coherent look in this post!

Winter started early December with a bit of snow, which is not all that common here. Somehow I really like the look of the cheap film colorplus (from Kodak) in snow/winter conditions:

When the snow is gone the world looks completely different, so I choose Portra 400 for a visit to the forest in Dieren:

Late December my man and I visited the Belgium town Ghent. Don’t get fooled by the sun and the colors, it was really cold! I was glad I brought Ektar to capture the colors of the city, and of the christmas fair!

January started with a back injury, and ended with a holiday, which I will feature in a later post. February brought some nice days out in the woods, with a bit of sun, but nothing too fancy when it comes to light. But I always love trees, so here we go:

That was winter for me in a nutshell. I need to catch up on my finished projects of 2017, but otherwise I am ready for spring.

I hope you enjoyed it, thanks for reading!

    1. Thanks very much! Colorplus also works great with mist, that might come along earlier than snow 😉
